Otoplasty is a surgical procedure by which the shape of the external ears
(pinna) is modified to achieve a cosmetically more acceptable result. It is usually indicated in
cases where one or both of the ears are protruding excessively, or one or both ears are deformed
(microtia) or absent (anotia).
